Optimization for the Cloud
Our software has been optimized for our new offer called "BiblioMaker in the Cloud".

When you start up BiblioMaker, you see the last opened file in "View" mode (for instance Titles, Addresses or Loans). But did you know that you can customize this display ?
The "View" mode displays the data of a file (for instance Titles) as a list. Each record is displayed on a line and each field is displayed in a column. For instance, the Addresses file displays 6 columns : photo, code, surname and name, town, type and category.

Sorting is defining in which order your records must be displayed on screen. With BiblioMaker, you can sort your data by several criteria and in both directions. How do you sort your records ?

Does your school library often receive classes and you must register the pupils' loans as quick as possible ? This tip should be helpful.
If pupils don't have a reader card, you must identify them with their surname or first name, what is tedious and source of errors. You can avoid this by printing at the school year's beginning a list of pupils sorted by class with their barcode. Some authors are known under several names, either because people have written with a pseudonym or a collectivity has an acronym and a full name (for instance "United Nations" and "UN").
With BiblioMaker, you can group all known names of an author in order to guide the readers during searches. For instance, if you have decided to use the "United Nations" name and a reader searches with "UN", he will find the titles entered under "United Nations" thanks to the referrals you have created.

It can happen that you enter the same author under several different names (for instance if you made a typo or if you entered once the full name and another time only the name's initials).
With the authors index, you can find such inconsistencies easier. Moreover, BiblioMaker has a mechanism for merging easily entries for the same author :
In the authors file, isolate the different entries for the same author. Decide then which entry you will keep and which one you will delete.
Modify the entry to delete. In the author cataloguing template, click on the Trash icon in order to delete this entry....
In the Titles and Addresses file, free fields are available if you want to enter data for which no other field fits.
By default, no label is displayed in front of these fields in the cataloguing templates. Moreover, you cannot enter a value in these fields as long as they have not been named.
If you want to use these fields, you must enter a label : call the Action>Options command, select the title or address type for which you want to define the free field name and click on "Modify". Define a label in the fields "Free 1", "Free 2", etc.
Please note that you must define this label for each title...
